Leipzig (dpa) - The handball players of the SC DHfK Leipzig have said goodbye to the six-week Bundesliga break with a home defeat.

Against the leaders SG Flensburg-Handewitt, the team of coach André Haber lost on Sunday afternoon with 24:29 (13:17).

The best Leipzig thrower was captain Alen Milosevic with six goals.

Compared to the offensive anemic appearance last in Minden (20:23), the Leipzigers presented themselves significantly better, but had considerable problems on the defensive with the table leaders' variable attacking game and conceded 17 goals by the break.

In addition, the two-meter giant Maciej Gebala received the red card.

A strong phase from Kristian Saeveraas, who was in the final phase of the first half for the hapless Joel Birlehm, allowed the Leipzigers to shorten the gap to two goals (18:20).

But the people of Flensburg did not let that bother them.

They quickly pulled away again and in the end won safely.
