Hesel (dpa / lni) - With more than 100 vehicles, farmers protested on Sunday evening in front of the Aldi warehouse in Hesel (district of Leer) against what they saw as the threat of lowering butter prices.

"Aldi is unable to understand the situation in agriculture or does not want to," said spokesman Anthony Lee on Sunday evening for the German press agency.

Similar protests are also planned in southern and eastern Germany.

The police confirmed that there were more vehicles on their way to the camp that evening.

Aldi could not be reached for a comment at first.
