Berlin (dpa) - Bayern coach Hansi Flick has been named “Personality of the Year 2020” by the specialist magazine “Kicker”.
The triple coach of the German soccer champions thus succeeds Liverpool's master coach Jürgen Klopp, who was voted “Man of the Year” last year.
According to "Kicker", the choice fell on Flick, "because he created this outstanding success firstly through teamwork out of conviction and secondly with a grounded humility that is very good for football in the midst of its cultural crisis".
Flick's assistant Hermann Gerland emphasized in his congratulatory text: “He's a good person from the ground up” and praised the Bayern Munich coach: “If he thinks it's right, he seeks advice from his employees and follows it when he does he can thus initiate improvements.
