Berlin (dpa / bb) - The number of people infected with corona in Berlin continued to rise at Christmas.
The Senate Health Department's report on Saturday recorded 635 new cases.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 92,992 people have been proven to have contracted the coronavirus, of which 72,526 have now recovered.
However, not all districts report their data on public holidays, so the statistics do not give a complete picture of the infection rate.
There were also ten deaths in connection with the corona pandemic.
The number rose to a total of 1128. The Corona warning light continues to be clearly red twice: According to the latest management report, 31.3 percent of Berlin's intensive care beds were occupied by Covid 19 patients - 25 percent are considered to be a critical value.
The number of new infections within a week is 155.9.
That is lower than on Christmas Eve, but still at a high level and clearly in the red.
The Berlin corona traffic light only shows green for the so-called reproduction number with 0.92, which indicates how many people an infected person infects on average.
The value should be well below 1 if possible.
