According to Anadolu News Agency, South Sudan’s humanitarian agencies issued a statement stating that at least 1 million children are on the verge of starvation due to continued violent conflicts, floods and displacement.

The organization also warned that the number of hungry children in the first half of next year will rise to 13% of the total population.

According to the organization, South Sudan has one of the highest child mortality rates in the world.
