Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - Before the start of the corona vaccinations, the first vaccine doses also arrived in Hesse.
Half of the almost 10,000 cans will first be prepared in a cooling and distribution center for onward transport to the 28 vaccination centers in the country, said a spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior in Wiesbaden on Saturday.
They would then be distributed across the country, which is expected to take the whole day.
In addition to the vaccination centers, the seven specialty clinics in the country are also to receive vaccines for their staff.
The big vaccination campaign against the corona virus begins on Sunday.
First, employees in the Covid-19 intensive care units in hospitals and residents and employees of old people's and nursing homes are vaccinated.
The latter are visited by mobile teams from the vaccination centers.
The other almost 5000 doses are to be temporarily stored in the cooling center in order to ensure the second vaccination in around three weeks.
The federal government has tens of thousands of Biontech cans delivered to 27 locations across Germany this Saturday.
