Detroit (AP) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have reached the playoffs in the American football league NFL for the first time since 2007.

The team of quarterback superstar Tom Brady prevailed against the Detroit Lions with 47: 7 and booked the ticket for the knockout games.

The 43-year-old Brady, a six-time Super Bowl winner, threw four touchdown passes but only played one half.

Brady also threw a franchise record of 36 touchdowns and set a personal record with 348 passing yards by halftime.

The team did not afford a turnover.

Mike Evans caught two touchdown passes from Brady for 181 receiving yards.

Rob Gronkowski also caught two touchdowns, Antonio Brown one.

The Bucs also posted a franchise record of 588 yards, ending the second-longest postseason doldrums in the NFL behind Cleveland (age 18).

The Lions had to do without their quarterback Matthew Stafford in the first quarter.

The 32-year-old was replaced with an ankle injury.

He had already gone into the game battered with a rib and thumb injury.

Chase Daniel came into play for him, but his first possession ended with a sack.

He only came to 86 yards, third quarterback David Blough to 49 yards and an interception.

Tampa Bay has ten wins and five losses, Detroit's record is negative at 5:10.
