Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - In Saxony-Anhalt, 526 new corona infections were reported within one day.
The Ministry of Social Affairs announced this on Saturday in Magdeburg.
Accordingly, the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days was 211.55 and thus below the value of the previous day of 224.26.
The nationwide seven-day incidence was 171 on Saturday morning, according to the Robert Koch Institute.
The Saalekreis exceeded the incidence mark of 400 for the first time on Saturday. After 73 new infections reported within one day, 412.37 infections per 100,000 inhabitants were registered there in one week.
Meanwhile, more and more Covid 19 patients with a severe course are being treated in the hospitals in Saxony-Anhalt.
On Saturday, 154 intensive care and ventilation beds were occupied with these patients, 82 were artificially ventilated.
On Friday there were 149 of these special beds and 77 ventilated Covid-19 patients.

Seven other deaths in connection with the coronavirus have also been reported in Saxony-Anhalt.
A total of 516 people have died with or from the virus in the country so far.
A total of 7478 people in Saxony-Anhalt were currently infected on Saturday, the previous day it had been 7440.
In Saxony-Anhalt, 27,312 corona cases have been recorded since the beginning of the pandemic and 2,360 sick people have been treated in hospitals.
