In Italy, a person infected with the mutant virus was confirmed again last week, and as they have not been to the UK and have not been in contact with anyone from the UK, Italian authorities are focusing on determining the route of infection.

In Denmark, the genetic material of 7,800 people who tested positive in the last month has been tested to identify 33 patients infected with the mutant virus.

As the spread continues, more than 40 countries, including France, are blocking entry from the UK, and the UK government is also opening up the possibility of national blockade.
