Dr. Abdullah Al-Kubaisi - who is the first Qatari citizen to receive the "Covid-19" vaccine - called for not to pay attention to rumors related to the "Pfizer-BioNTech" vaccine against the emerging corona virus, and to obtain information from its official sources such as the Ministry of Health and its institutions. Dr. Al-Kubaisi - a former president of Qatar University - received the Covid-19 vaccine at Al-Wajba Health Center in Doha, where he was the first person to receive the vaccine among several hundreds of people who were vaccinated on the first day of the vaccination campaign with the Covid-19 vaccine in the country.

Al-Kubaisi praised - in an interview with Al-Jazeera Net - the efforts of his country's government and its endeavor from day one to obtain the best vaccines in the world and provide them to everyone inside the country for free, as well as the efforts made by the Ministry of Public Health in Qatar since the emergence of this epidemic.

This culminated in Qatar registering the lowest death rate from Corona in the world.

He expressed his hope that providing the vaccine in Qatar will be the beginning of a gradual return to normal life, calling on anyone within the country to meet the criteria for getting the vaccine to take advantage of this opportunity and get the vaccine as soon as possible.

The former President of Qatar University called for the need to take the matter very seriously, not to be underestimated, and to follow all the instructions announced by the concerned authorities to protect against the virus, and to trust the health institution in Qatar that sought to provide a safe and effective vaccine.

Dr. Al-Kubaisi explained that he received a call from the Hamad Medical Corporation that he had been chosen within the first stage of vaccination, and he responded to this call immediately by attending the specified time and place, indicating that he is honored to be the first to receive the Corona vaccine in Qatar.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Kubaisi began his work as an inspector for social sciences at the Ministry of Education in the State of Qatar in 1975, and in the same year he moved to the United Kingdom to pursue his higher studies at Durham University, where he obtained a doctorate in education in 1979.

After that he worked as a lecturer in the Department of Fundamentals of Education, and not long ago he was appointed as a rapporteur for the Technical Office for University Development, and after that he was appointed Vice President of the University in 1980, and then Acting President of the University in 1986, and today he is an Honorary Professor and a Member of the Faculty of the College of Education in Qatar University.

Last Wednesday, Qatar began the first phase of the vaccination campaign with the Covid-19 vaccine, and during this stage, priority will be given to obtaining the vaccine for people most at risk of severe complications in the event of contracting the virus, and this includes people aged 70 years and over, and people with chronic diseases. And health care teams who frequently deal with COVID-19 cases.
