Federation Council approved the law on the recognition of individuals as foreign agents for political activity

As reported by RIA Novosti, unregistered political NGOs with foreign funding can also receive the status of a foreign agent.

For the law to come into force, it must be signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Earlier, the State Duma adopted in the third reading amendments to the legislation, which are aimed at regulating the activities of foreign agents.

On December 10, State Duma Deputy Yevgeny Fedorov proposed to recognize as foreign agents those NGOs whose founders or leaders receive funds from foreign sources.
