- These are class 1 warnings as snow villages pull in, especially in the eastern parts of Uppland and along the Roslag coast.

It can be between five and ten centimeters of fresh snow, says Moa Hallberg, meteorologist at SMHI.

She urges those who are going out on the roads to drive carefully.

- There has not been any direct snow and you may not be so used to this road conditions if you live in eastern Svealand.

The snowfall comes in late at night and on Christmas morning.

- We have a low pressure that moves east and in connection with that the wind then turns, and since we have north to northeast winds at sea, snow villages start, says Moa Hallberg.

The weather continues to be cold and clear during Christmas Eve.

In the far south, mainly in Skåne and over Öland and Gotland, the risk of rain is great and any Christmas walks may be done with the umbrella as company.

Because even though the temperature is expected to drop, there will be no white Christmas for the southern parts of the country.

This view is reserved for Norrland and northern Svealand this year.

Even there, the clouds and a certain amount of precipitation dominate, with the difference that it is then snow that falls.
