  The head of the Fixed Assets Investment Department of the Development and Reform Commission of the Tibet Autonomous Region said that during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, the key projects arranged by the central government for Tibet mainly focus on ensuring and improving people's livelihood, infrastructure construction, ecological environment protection, grassroots government and social management.   The central government's investment in Tibet's public services has also greatly promoted the development of local social undertakings.

Statistics show that by the end of 2019, the number of beds in medical and health institutions per 1,000 people in Tibet was 4.87, an increase of 0.54 from 2015. There were 1,109 square meters of public cultural facilities per 10,000 people, and the harmless treatment rate of urban domestic garbage in the region reached 91.38%.

  During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, Tibet's local GDP, per capita GDP, and residents' per capita disposable income have all outperformed the national average, and absolute poverty has been eliminated in history.

  Tuden Kezhu, a professor at Tibet University, said that to achieve such results in the extremely cold "roof of the world", the central government's continued investment support has played a huge role.
