Potsdam (dpa / bb) - The number of new corona infections is still high in Brandenburg.
The Ministry of Health reported 1,181 new cases in one day on Thursday.
The day before, the number of newly confirmed cases had soared to a maximum of 1,580.
22 people died from Wednesday to Thursday with Covid 19 disease, a total of 878 deaths have now been registered in Brandenburg since the beginning of the pandemic.
The Spree-Neisse district remained the corona hotspot with 617.7 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days, followed by the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district with a value of 574.2 and Cottbus with 411.3.
For the whole of Brandenburg, the so-called 7-day incidence, i.e. the number of infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week, was hardly changed from the previous day, 305.4.
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) only reported an incidence value of 320.1 for the Spree-Neisse district on Thursday (midnight).
According to the RKI, the value for the country was a good 195. A spokesman for the Ministry of Health said there have been more frequent delays in reporting to the RKI in the past few days.
The reasons for this are not known.

According to the ministry, more than 40,000 corona infections have been statistically recorded in Brandenburg since the beginning of the pandemic.
The number of currently sick people rose by a good 300 patients to 14,828. 24,372 people are considered recovered, 857 more than on Wednesday.
