Berlin / Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - In Hesse, the number of proven corona infections has increased by 1165 compared to the previous day.
Overall, the number of cases registered since the beginning of the pandemic is now 126,214, as can be seen from data from the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin (as of December 24, 0.00 a.m.).
The number of deaths in the state rose by 35 to 2331. This means that Hesse has 185.2 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants nationwide in the past seven days.
The values were below those of the previous day.
From Tuesday to Wednesday, 2411 new proven corona infections and 96 deaths were counted.
According to the intensive care register of the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (Divi), 455 corona patients were last treated in hospitals in intensive care units in Hesse (as of Wednesday 12.15 p.m.).
That corresponded to 26 percent of all occupied intensive care beds.
240 Covid-19 patients were ventilated.
Throughout Hessen, a total of 2026 intensive care beds were occupied in 1734.
