Stuttgart (AP) - VfB Stuttgart will compete in the second round of the DFB Cup against SC Freiburg this Wednesday evening (8.45 p.m. / ARD and Sky) without their top scorer Silas Wamangituka.

The Congolese, who has already scored eight competitive goals this season, will be given a break due to knee problems, the club said.

Captain Gonzalo Castro, striker Sasa Kalajdzic and talent Mateo Klimowicz, who were only substituted on in VfB's 0-1 defeat in the last Bundesliga game of the year at VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday, are returning to the starting line-up.

The goal is guarded by Fabian Bredlow, as announced by coach Pellegrino Matarazzo.

As expected, substitute goalkeeper Benjamin Uphoff is also between the posts for the guests from Freiburg.

Defender Dominique Heintz, midfielder Woo-yeong Jeong and striker Lucas Höler also slip into the starting line-up.

Roland Sallai is absent due to adductor problems, Manuel Gulde is spared.
