Münster (dpa / lnw) - The Higher Administrative Court in Münster refused on Wednesday to allow golf again, which was prohibited due to the corona pandemic.

According to the court, the applicant, a member of a Düsseldorf golf club, argued that there is no risk of infection from individual outdoor sports and especially from golf.

However, the court found the ban to be proportionate.

The fact that the number of infections did not decrease despite the partial lockdown in November and recently increased significantly again shows that the measures taken so far have not been sufficient.

Another shutdown of public life is therefore justified.

The opening of sports facilities creates incentives and opportunities for contacts.

This also applies to individual sports such as golf.

This is not just about contact with a possible teammate, but also with players that you might meet by chance.

Since you often know each other in a golf club, conversations would quickly ensue.
