Schwerin (dpa / mv) - The state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is to be re-elected on September 26, 2021 and thus on the same day as the Bundestag.

Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) and Interior Minister Torsten Renz (CDU) have agreed on this.

A corresponding cabinet proposal is in progress and should be decided at one of the next meetings, Schwesig announced on Wednesday in Schwerin.

The state government had initially waited for the decision of the federal government, which set itself at the beginning of December with the order by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier on September 26th.
