Geltow (dpa / bb) - A 47-year-old motorist was fatally injured in a traffic accident on the district road between Wildpark West and Werder / Havel (Potsdam-Mittelmark).
The man had left the lane with his car on Tuesday evening for reasons that are still unexplained and hit a tree head-on, the police reported on Wednesday.
First responders tried in vain to reanimate the man.
He died at the scene of the accident from his serious injuries.
In addition, the car caught fire and burned out completely.
The police have started investigations into the cause of the accident.
