Koblenz (dpa / lrs) - Because of international drug trafficking with more than a ton of heroin, a 49- and 59-year-old man have been standing before the Koblenz district court since Tuesday.

This was announced by a court spokeswoman.

According to the public prosecutor's office, you and a third defendant, whose trial has been severed, were involved in the transport of heroin by truck from Iran to Germany in October to November 2019.

As part of an international gang, they would also have been involved in trading it.

The 1.1 tons of heroin, which were originally transported in concealment, were discovered during an inspection in Kazakhstan. Only about half a kilogram of the drug remained in the truck and made it to Germany. The 1st criminal chamber of the Koblenz Regional Court has initially scheduled eleven days of hearing until February 25, 2021.
