  • Fortuna. The 140 million with which Rosauro Varo can rebuild his beach bar

The Board of Directors of Prisa will appoint today, December 22,

two new directors

to fill the vacancies left by Javier Monzón and Sonia Dula.

One of them has caused surprise, since it is

Rosauro Varo

(41), who

enters from the hand of Telefónica,

since he is currently the largest individual shareholder of the company.

Since September he was a director of the newspaper El Español, owned by Pedro J. Ramírez, a position he has now resigned due to incompatibility.

Resident for a few months in Marbella,

where he settled in the middle of a pandemic in his house in the

Guadalmina urbanization,

until now Rosauro has been better known in the world of the pink chronicle for being a

partner of the actress Amaia Salamanca.

However, many are unaware, perhaps because of his allergy to being on paper, that despite his youth, he is

one of the most vigorous businessmen in Spain.

He chairs the Gat Technology group, which covers major

investments in the field of tourism,

real estate, hotels, and also in technology and communications.

In April,

Rosauro sold 2,000 Cabify licenses

that he owned through his company Vector Ronda, becoming one of the company's largest shareholders.

This summer it was news due to the fire that devastated Puro Beach, one of the

most exclusive

beach clubs

in Marbella,

which he owns and is currently rebuilding.

On the Costa del Sol it also has others, including the mythical Salduba.

Varo and Amaia Salamanca, at ARCO, in 2018.

It was in the

world of the night where he made his debut

as a businessman: he

was 17 years old, he was

studying law and it occurred to him to organize a macro New Year's Eve party, borrowing 1,500 euros from his family.

It turned out so well that a year later he set up the Boss nightclub, which was

followed by more venues

in Cádiz and Huelva.

His big hit

was when, after signing for MP Corporation in 2011, he moved to Madrid and

set up the mobile company Pepephone with Javier Hidalgo,

son of the owner of Globalia, which in 2015 they sold to Más Móvil for

158 million euros.

An astronomical figure for

a very young businessman

who, according to his environment,

hates being called "Andalusian gentleman".

He was born into a middle-class family in a

town in Cordoba,

Montilla, he is the

son and grandson of a doctor,

and his mother, Amalia Rodríguez, is a

historical socialist deputy.

There still exists the family home of his grandfather, Dr. Rosauro Varo de Castro, a member of the Azaña Republican Left, known as the "house of columns."

Rosauro and

his two brothers

Amalia and Nacho, also doctors,

grew up in Seville,

in the Los Remedios neighborhood.

Being a businessman of the night allowed him to interact with members of

the Seville jet, such

as Luis and Rafael Medina, sons of Naty Abascal, the horseman Muñoz Escassi or the bullfighters

José María Manzanares and Litri,

friends of his.

His name also jumped into the pink press, when he was romantically linked with

Vicky Martín Berrocal and Eugenia Martinez de Irujo.

His relatives explain his meteoric rise by

his charisma,

since in addition to having a well-furnished head, he is friendly and good people.

Far from the

frivolous

with which he is associated,

he loves teaching, he

was even a professor at the Pablo de Olavide University and has sponsored the Alala foundation, to integrate children from

the Tres Mil Viviendas neighborhood

in Seville

through education

.

With women he was always successful, although now he is

stabilized with Amaia Salamanca.

They met in Ibiza in 2010, when Rosauro had already

expanded his business outside of Andalusia

and was flying high alongside powerful businessmen such as

Javier Hidalgo, Manuel Colonques,

owner of Porcelanosa,

Alonso Aznar or Marta Ortega,

whose wedding he attended.

The couple has

been together for 10 years and they are the parents of three children,

Olivia, 6, Nacho, 5, and Mateo, 4, although they have not yet gone through the vicarage.

Until now they resided in a

splendid villa in the La Moraleja urbanization

in Madrid, and they also have a house in Seville, an 18th century home

in the Santa Cruz neighborhood,

and in the Marbella urbanization of Guadalmina, where they have temporarily settled so that their children enjoy a

better quality of life during the pandemic.
