Dresden (dpa / sn) - A good four months after a fire completely destroyed a house and an adjacent barn in Halsbrücke (Central Saxony district), charges have been brought against a man.

The 31-year-old was accused of serious arson, said the Chemnitz public prosecutor on Tuesday.

The accused had therefore essentially admitted the allegations.

The trigger was apparently disputes with his former partner and the parents of their new boyfriend. These were the tenants of the completely burned down house. The residents were not in the house at the time of the fire. The damage amounts to at least 300,000 euros. The 31-year-old has been in custody since the end of September. The Chemnitz District Court must now decide on the opening of the main proceedings.
