Dresden (AP) - Third division soccer team Dynamo Dresden has missed another surprise in the DFB Cup.

The Saxons lost on Tuesday second division SV Darmstadt 98 0: 3 (0: 1) and were eliminated in the second round.

Dresden had secured the duel with Hessen with a brilliant victory against Hamburger SV in the first round.

Fabian Schnellhardt (24th minute) gave the guests the lead with a dream goal, Seungho Paik (59th) increased and striker Serdar Dursun (72nd) scored for the final score.

Even before the kick-off, Dynamo had suffered a setback.

The 30,000 balloons in the main stand, which were supposed to symbolize the missing fans in the empty stadium, had to be almost completely removed.

Due to strong winds with speeds of sometimes over 50 km / h, more and more balloons were loosened from their anchors on the seats and could thus get onto the lawn in an uncontrolled manner, the club said.

Dresden had sold over 72,000 ghost tickets for the game.

Darmstadt dominated the game from the start, third division league leaders Dresden often came in behind.

After some good chances, the ball fell in front of Schnellhardt's feet 20 meters in front of the goal and the midfielder hit the corner with a remarkable shot.

In a phase when Dresden got better into the game, Paik made the preliminary decision after a one-two with the second goal of Hessen.

Dursun then prevailed too easily in the penalty area and hit with a shot from close range.
