Berlin (AP) - FC Schalke 04 can still win.
The Gelsenkirchen team, who have been without a win in 29 Bundesliga games, made it into the round of 16 of the DFB Cup with a 3-1 (1-0) win against regional division SSV Ulm.
RB Leipzig also made it into the round of the best 16 teams with a 3-0 (1-0) win at league rivals FC Augsburg.
1. FC Köln managed to advance with a 1-0 (1-0) win against VfL Osnabrück.
For Schalke, who, like in the disappointing 1-0 defeat of Arminia Bielefeld in the league, were again looked after by interim coach Huub Stevens, international Suat Serdar set the course with his opening goal in the 27th minute.
The Royal Blues did not perform well again, but with Benito Raman's brace in the 51st and 63rd minutes the preliminary decision had been made.
Ulms Johannes Reichert scored the deserved consolation goal with a penalty margin (82nd).

In Augsburg, the guests got off to a strong start and took an early lead through Willi Orban's header (11th).
Even after that, the Leipzig team was the better team for a long time, Yussuf Poulsen (75th) and Angelino (82nd) made everything clear.
Cologne are also in the round of 16.
Anthony Modeste's goal (45 + 1) was enough for the home side against the brave second division club from Osnabrück.
The cup round of 16 will be played on February 2nd and 3rd.
The draw for the next round will take place on January 3rd as part of the ARD “Sportschau”.
Losfee is then the former ski jumper Sven Hannawald.
