Since the start of the Covid-19 epidemic, far-fetched theories and controversial comments from health professionals have multiplied.

As a result, the National Council of the Order of Physicians (Cnom) lodged a complaint in early December against six doctors, including Professor Didier Raoult and infectious disease specialist Christian Perronne, the medical news agency APMNews revealed, without further details. .

Contacted by AFP, the Cnom confirmed this information.

The body examined a series of complaints or reports targeting doctors, for facts or comments deemed controversial and made publicly about the health crisis.

She decided to seize the disciplinary chambers of first instance of complaints, or to join a complaint in progress with regard to six doctors, details the specialized agency.

Controversial remarks denounced

Microbiologist Didier Raoult, from the Institut hospitalo-universitaire (IHU) Méditerranée, controversial advocate of hydroxychloroquine, is at the heart of a controversy for having crushed the management of the crisis by the authorities and the conflicts of interest in the international research on the treatment of Covid-19.

His words had pushed the departmental council of the Order of Physicians of Bouches-du-Rhône to seize the disciplinary jurisdiction, and the Cnom chose to join it.

Regarding Professor Perronne, until now head of the infectious and tropical diseases department at Raymond-Poincaré hospital in Garches (Hauts-de-Seine), the Public Assistance - Hospitals of Paris (AP-HP) announced on Thursday that it had terminated his functions, for having notably affirmed that the patients of Covid-19 represented a financial boon for the doctors and also for controversial remarks around the hydroxychloroquine.

The CNOM's complaints also target Prof. Henri Joyeux, retired oncologist, Dr Nicole Delépine, former pediatric oncologist in Garches, Dr Nicolas Zeller, general practitioner, and Dr Rezeau-Frantz, also general practitioner.
