Abu Dhabi takes preventive and precautionary measures to confront Corona

The Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Management Committee in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi announced today that the preventive and precautionary measures applied in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi will be updated to preserve all the health gains achieved and after a comprehensive evaluation of activities.

These measures will take effect from Thursday, December 24, 2020.

The committee approved raising the capacity of the economic, tourism and entertainment activities to the possible operational capacity in accordance with the approved precautionary measures.


The committee announced the amendment of the validity period of the negative result of the nasal swab examination (PCR) or the laser examination (DPI) used to enter the emirate from 48 hours to 72 hours, and the replacement of the fourth and eighth day examinations with an examination conducted on the sixth day of entry for those whose stay exceeds 6 consecutive days.

The committee also approved entry procedures for international travelers, including residents of the emirate and tourists, including the exception of those coming from green countries from quarantine, and reducing the quarantine period for those coming from other countries to 10 days only.

The committee approved conducting a PCR examination for all those coming from traveling from all countries on the sixth day for those whose stay exceeds 6 days, and adding the examination on the twelfth day for those whose stay exceeds 12 days.

The country rankings will be reviewed periodically every two weeks.

According to the global precautionary measures, the committee approved reducing the quarantine period for contacts to 10 days only, provided that a PCR examination is conducted on the eighth day and that its result is negative.

According to the previously announced procedures, participants in the national vaccination program for Covid-19 and participants in the third phase of clinical studies of the vaccine and whose special condition (letter E or golden star) appears on applying the fortress from the medical quarantine procedures for contacts and upon return from travel.

The committee approved a schedule for a national survey program to conduct periodic checks for residents of industrial areas and complexes with densely populated people and employees of various commercial activities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, to enhance the capacity of the health inspection centers outside the emirate, and to cancel the conduct of checks at entry points.
