21 December 2020 Together with Argentina and Colombia, Peru, Chile and El Salvador are also among the Latin American countries that have suspended flights with the United Kingdom or the entire European continent, following the discovery of the new English variant of the coronavirus .



Peruvian President Francisco Sagasti announced the preventive suspension of the entry of flights from all over Europe for two weeks.

In a message to the nation, the head of state also announced that non-resident foreigners who have been in the UK in the past two weeks are banned from entering.

The government has ordered that Peruvian citizens or resident foreigners who are in the country and who have visited the UK in the past two weeks are quarantined for 14 days.



In Chile, the government announced that direct flights to the UK will be suspended for two weeks from tomorrow, and non-resident foreigners who have visited the European country in the past two weeks will be banned from entering Chile.

Chileans or resident foreigners who have been in the UK in the past two weeks can enter the South American country, but will be forced into a 14-day quarantine.



Yesterday, El Salvador President Nayib Bukele announced on Twitter that he has banned entry into the country with immediate effect "of any person whose flight itinerary has included the UK or South Africa or who has been to one of these two countries in the last 30 days ".
