Lüdersdorf (dpa / mv) - Shortly after each other and only a few hundred meters apart, two fires have been reported in the Lüdersdorfer district of Herrnburg (district of Northwest Mecklenburg).

This resulted in property damage of around 600,000 euros on Monday night, and one person was slightly injured, the police said.

First, in the late evening, an empty house with several pieces of antique furniture burned down.

The property damage is estimated here at 560,000 euros.

Just half an hour later, a second fire was reported a few hundred meters away.

This time a carport with a car parked underneath burned, the estimated damage is 30,000 euros.

The owner was slightly injured in an attempt to extinguish the fire.

Whether there is a connection between the fires is the subject of the investigation, said a police spokesman.

However, no statement can yet be made about the cause of the fire.

The fire brigade was still on duty at both fire sites in the early morning hours.
