It was at 11:30 on Monday morning that the rescue service was alerted to the train bridge at Vasavägen in Eskilstuna.

An oversized truck that tried to pass under the bridge hit it with the trailer before it could continue through to the other side.

The trailer was damaged in the crash, but the driver was not injured and was able to drive the truck from the scene, according to the rescue service.

Initially, queues were formed on the site, but after the rescue service cleaned up debris from the roadway, it should now be fully passable for car traffic.

However, the collision has consequences for train traffic. The Swedish Transport Administration now needs to make an inspection to ensure that no damage has occurred to the bridge and now train traffic has been stopped between Eskilstuna and Strängnäs.
