Dortmund (dpa) - Because of the new travel restrictions for flights from Great Britain, the two Englishmen Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham from Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund have to stay in Germany for Christmas.

This was announced by BVB sports director Michael Zorc at a press conference on Monday.

If he understood the legal regulations and decrees correctly, the return of the two professionals would mean that they would no longer be able to travel to Germany.

"As a result, we cannot allow them to go to England over the Christmas period," said Zorc.

On Tuesday (8 p.m. / Sport1 and Sky), BVB will play their DFB Cup match at the second division club Eintracht Braunschweig, after the short break, the home game against VfL Wolfsburg will continue on January 3rd.
