Berlin (dpa / bb) - The top candidate of the Berlin Greens for the 2021 House of Representatives election, Bettina Jarasch, wants to advance digitization in the city faster.
"During the Corona crisis, we realized very clearly that we had to get faster and better when it came to digitization," Jarasch told the German Press Agency.
In the event of an election victory, she wants to make two topics the focus of her digital agenda: On the one hand, digitization in schools must progress “faster and better”.
The second goal is a “service-oriented, high-performance, citizen-friendly administration that also works”.
Jarasch envisions a “citizen account” so that everyone can handle all administrative procedures online from home while ensuring high data protection standards.
"To do this, digitization must be a matter for the boss," says Jarasch.
"As the governing mayor, I would like to handle it that way and drag the topic to the Red City Hall."
