Amberg (dpa / lby) - The nightly trip to the cigarette machine could cost a man and a woman from Amberg in Upper Palatinate each 500 euros.

At the weekend, police officers met the couple on the street after 9 p.m., the police said on Monday.

According to their own statements, they wanted to get cigarettes.

But this is not a valid reason to leave your apartment in the evening, it said.

The two have therefore violated the curfew and have to expect a high fine.

By chance, the Amberg police also came across a man on Saturday who violated the current contact restrictions.

An officer called the 42-year-old to make an appointment for a police questioning.

The police officer heard several people in the background who were apparently in a celebratory mood.

A patrol stopped by the man and found him in his apartment with three friends who all belong to different households.

A maximum of five people from two households are currently allowed to meet.

The four celebrants will now receive fines of up to 250 euros each.
