Halch (dpa / lby) - A 75-year-old man died in the fire in his apartment in halch (Ostallgäu district).
A neighbor had noticed heavy smoke in the next apartment on Sunday evening and made an emergency call, the police said.
The fire brigade moved to the apartment building with around 95 emergency services; the remaining residents had already left the house independently by then.
The fire fighters quickly brought the fire under control - but they found the lifeless 75-year-old resident in the smoky apartment.
For him any help came too late.
Two other residents were slightly injured by smoke gas.
The property damage is estimated at around 80,000 euros; the police are now investigating the cause of the fire.
