Sweden thus becomes another in the line of EU countries that introduce travel bans from the United Kingdom.
The measure is confirmed for SVT by Minister of the Interior Mikael Damberg (S).

It should be able to take effect as soon as possible, says Damberg.
Earlier this weekend, countries such as Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria and Italy announced that they would stop all travel to and from the UK.
Several other countries are considering introducing a similar travel ban.
The EU convenes a meeting in a flash
The cause is the new strain of coronavirus that was discovered in the UK and which Prime Minister Boris Johnson warned about on Saturday.
It is said to be 70 percent more contagious, but should not cause a more serious illness.
The seriousness of the situation is also illustrated by the fact that the EU countries were summoned to a meeting on Sunday evening.
The meeting will discuss whether the EU needs to take joint action on this new variant of the coronavirus.
The ban was demanded by M and L
On Sunday, both the Liberals and the Moderates demanded that Sweden introduce a travel ban to and from Great Britain.
During the day, the government has followed the development and discussed the issue and has now tonight decided to introduce an entry ban.
It is unclear how the ban is designed
Exactly how the decision will be formulated is still unclear.
It will apply to travelers by car, boat and plane.
Swedish citizens cannot be stopped, but the rules that will apply to them are unclear.
They may be forced to be quarantined on arrival in Sweden.
The formal decision is expected to be made by the government tomorrow, Monday.
