The versatile Czech Ester Ledecka, surprise Olympic super-G champion in 2018, in addition to a snowboard title, won her first Alpine Skiing World Cup super-G on Sunday in Val d'Isère.

The Czech beat the Swiss Corinne Suter by a breath (3 hundredths of a second).

The champion of the big Italian globe Federica Brignone is 3rd at 35 / 100th.

The deserted resort of Val d'Isère has been packed with a few tourists for two days and the start of the school holidays.

Despite the camera, rare curious were able to enjoy Sunday's super-G.

Standing in the surrounding snowfields, sunglasses and arms crossed, their presence associated with a fashionable electro-lounge playlist gave the race an air of opening, chic and cozy.

An environment in which Ester Ledecka likes: it is for example his brother Jonas, designer and designer quite popular in the Czech Republic, who designed his suit in a robotic / futuristic style.

The Czech go-getter ended an anomaly on Sunday: the reigning Olympic champion finally won her first World Cup super-G - it's even her first podium in the discipline - her 2nd career victory after the descent from Lake Louise (Canada) last winter.

- Always ahead on snowboard -

A true UFO in the world of skiing, Ledecka had become double Olympic champion in 2018 in alpine skiing, but also in parallel snowboarding, a sport in which she has dominated the debates for four years.

The Czech still divides her time between the two sports: she once again triumphed in snowboarding last weekend in Cortina (Italy), but is gaining in consistency in skiing and is now one of the very best in speed.

Second in the downhill world and 10th overall last winter, it is also taking giant starts where it is not at all clumsy (20th in Sölden in October).

Its unique double project is made even more difficult by the health crisis which limits travel and training places.

While she hoped to shine at the Worlds in both sports in early 2021, those snowboarding planned in China are for the moment canceled while the FIS (International Ski Federation) tries to find substitute places.

Ledecka beat the best skier of the weekend on Sunday: Corinne Suter, champion of the discipline, signed a third podium in three days after a victory and a second place on the two descents on Friday and Saturday.

Federica Brignone, who fell heavily on Friday on the first descent, clenched her teeth to snatch 3rd place after resting on Saturday.

The Slovak Petra Vlhova, convincing Sunday (6th), keeps the lead of the general with 138 points ahead of the Swiss Michelle Gisin (9th) and 142 points ahead of the Italian Marta Bassino (4th).

Tiffany Gauthier took 12th place, Tessa Worley is 22nd.
