The vaccine received certification two months after receiving the application.

Chilean authorities have previously approved the use of the Pfizer vaccine.

On December 2, UK authorities were the first in the world to approve the use of Pfizer and BioNTech vaccines in the country.

The vaccine has also been approved in Bahrain, Canada and the United States.

Manufacturers have claimed 95% effectiveness for their coronavirus vaccine.
