Vechta (dpa / lni) - Bundesliga basketball team Rasta Vechta has strengthened itself with the Nigerian national player Ikenna Ugochukwu.

According to the club on Saturday, the 25-year-old is expected in Vechta on Sunday and "goes through all quarantine measures ordered by the authorities".

Vechta started the new season badly with six defeats after six games.

Most recently, the versatile professional was used until March for the lower-class Capital City Go-Go club from Washington.

At the end of November Ugochukwu played for Nigeria in qualifying for the Africa Championship.

In the 2018/19 season he was active for the then Bundesliga club Science City Jena.

“That Ike already knows the BBL is certainly a good thing.

He already showed in Jena how incredibly fast he is and how well he can tear gaps for his teammates with his move to the basket », said coach Thomas Päch.
