Madrid (AP) - Lionel Messi has set an ancient record for Pelé.

The Argentine star footballer scored his 643rd goal for FC Barcelona - as many as the Brazilian icon between 1957 and 1974 for FC Santos.

Nevertheless, Barcelona only came to a 2: 2 (1: 1) in the home game against FC Valencia.
