Hanover (dpa / lni) - Lower Saxony's Prime Minister Stephan Weil has welcomed the planned sequence of corona vaccinations and is relying on the highest possible willingness to vaccinate.

"I have a great interest in ensuring that as many people as possible, ideally all people in Lower Saxony, agree to such a vaccination," said the SPD politician on Friday.

However, not enough vaccine will be available for everyone in the first few months.

Therefore, it is right to start with people who are particularly at risk.

Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn (CDU) had announced that the first over-80-year-olds, those in need of care and employees in nursing and medical facilities should be vaccinated - probably from December 27th. The fact that other professional groups such as police officers and teachers still have to be patient is "regrettable, but acceptable," said Weil. But the goal is to give everyone in Lower Saxony access to the Covid 19 vaccination as soon as possible.
