Charlie Dalin (Apivia) came in second in the Vendée Globe, overtaking Thomas Rouillard (LinkedOut), delayed the day before by a waterway, according to Friday's score at 04:00 GMT.
While the leading boats have entered the Pacific Ocean, Yannick Bestaven (Maître Coq IV) is still in the lead with 103.1 nautical miles (190 km) ahead of Dalin.
Rouillard, who was able to set off again carefully after his mishap, finished 3rd, 176.6 miles behind the first.
