China News Service, December 18th. According to the US "Sing Tao Daily" report, the epidemic has dealt a serious blow to the US hotel industry, with most hotels operating at a loss, and Chinese-run hotels are also struggling.

Recently, American Chinese entrepreneur Lin Jianzhong called for consideration of collecting land tax based on turnover, whether it is New York State or all states in the United States.

Decades ago, Lin Jianzhong started operating high-end hotels in New York.

Today, the Lin Group founded and operated by Lin Jianzhong has operated more than 100 hotels in the United States.

However, under the epidemic, the hotel's annual revenue is only enough to barely pay the hotel property tax.

Counting company employees' salaries, insurance and other operating costs, hotels are operating at a loss.

The epidemic is so serious, why do you insist on not closing the door?

Lin Jianzhong said that if the hotel is closed, not only will all hotel employees become unemployed, but it will also be difficult to pay for hotel property taxes, property insurance, bank loans, maintenance and other expenses, which will cause greater losses and financial pressure on the company.

Therefore, Lin Jianzhong believes that the government should reduce hotel property land tax as appropriate.

Especially like New York City, which has the highest and most expensive land tax in the United States, it should be greatly reduced and lowered.

After all, although the government has relief measures for enterprises, no business is just a drop in the bucket, and it is difficult to solve actual operating difficulties.

Lin Jianzhong also said that the China-US Hotel General Chamber of Commerce will use platform resources to dialogue with the government to effectively solve the problems faced by the hotel industry, suggesting that the land tax shall be collected in proportion to the turnover or provide temporary loans to assist the hotel industry.

Although the hotel industry has been hit by the epidemic, Lin Jianzhong is still confident in its future development.

He said that seeing the initial results of vaccine research and development, he believes that by next year, the hotel industry will gradually normalize.
