Berlin (AP) - Football professional Anthony Ujah from Bundesliga club 1. FC Union Berlin is hoping for a timely comeback in team training.

"Since this week I have started to run slowly again," said the striker, who has been injured for six months, in an interview on Friday in the club's video "submitted".

The 30-year-old even underwent an arthroscopy during the summer break, during which free joint bodies were removed.

During the recovery process, however, the knee showed a reaction, so that Ujah had to be patient.

"But now I've done the rehab well," said the Nigerian.

Ujah did not want to name a time when he would return to team training or even to the football field.

Ujah still helps Urs Fischer's team by sitting on the bench at home games.

«I try to push the boys.

This little push brings the team five percent, ”said Ujah before the home game against Borussia Dortmund on Friday evening in the An der Alten Försterei stadium (8.30pm / DAZN / ZDF).

The third game within a week is difficult, but the team is in a good phase.

In addition, Dortmund is a special opponent.

On the third match day of last season, the then promoted team celebrated their first victory in the Bundesliga in a 3-1 win over BVB.

"Today everything is different," Ujah refers to the lack of spectators because of the coronavirus pandemic: "I miss the atmosphere."
