Berlin (dpa / bb) - Four years after the Islamist attack on the Berlin Christmas market, Interior Senator Andreas Geisel (SPD) will present a new anti-terror concept on Friday (10:00 a.m.).

This involves increased cooperation between the authorities in countering terrorism and in a terrorist case, as well as better observation and faster deportation of threats.

Geisel had already announced that Berlin had based its concept on London.

Police chief Barbara Slowik, head of the protection of the constitution Michael Fischer, fire chief Karsten Homrighausen and the director of the State Office for Immigration, Engelhard Mazanke, also take part in the press conference.

The event will also be broadcast on the Senate Interior Administration's YouTube channel.

On December 19, 2016, an Islamist attacker hijacked a truck in Berlin and drove through the Christmas market at the Memorial Church. He killed twelve people and dozens were injured. According to the Senate Administration, it must be expected at any time that another attack can occur in Berlin.
