Maselheim / Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The first green town hall chief in Germany, Elmar Braun from Maselheim (Biberach district), has shown the limits of the design options for local politicians.

"As mayor, I always need a political and a social majority," said the 64-year-old of the "Stuttgarter Zeitung" (Friday).

"As mayor, I cannot make the world revolution."

Not even a prime minister in a coalition government could do that.

"That's our problem with Fridays for Future," said Braun, referring to the climate movement.

«Many are impatient.

But they don't know how an administration works, and they don't see what we've already tried. "

Braun has been mayor of the community with more than 4600 inhabitants since 1991.
