An attack that occurs in the middle of Hanukkah.
Four people were taken into police custody after assaulting and insulting a Jewish family in Aubervilliers (Seine-Saint-Denis) on Thursday evening, a source close to the investigation was told on Friday.
At approximately 8:40 pm Thursday evening, this family was in a car when they were attacked by a "group of individuals" while the vehicle was playing "music and messages of peace in Hebrew" to the occasion of Hanukkah, the Jewish festival of lights, the source said.
"Fuck the Jews"
The four individuals uttered "fuck the Jews", before "shaking the car and throwing glass bottles on the body," according to this source.
They were placed in custody for willful violence because of religious affiliation with weapon by destination and degradation, said a police source.
Last night, in the middle of Hanukkah, a family from Aubervilliers was insulted and attacked for being Jewish.

On Twitter, the Minister of the Interior Gerald Darmanin indicated that this family had been attacked “because they were Jewish” and that the perpetrators “should be punished according to the gravity of these facts”.
