Baden-Baden (dpa / lsw) - The Association of Family Doctors in the Southwest has sharply criticized the fact that these doctors should not be vaccinated as a priority.

Association boss Berthold Dietsche told the Südwestrundfunk in Baden-Baden on Friday that he did not want to believe his eyes when he read the recommendations of the Standing Vaccination Commission.

"You have to be aware that family doctors have been at the forefront of the fight against corona for nine months."

As a result, they would have contact with some highly infectious patients from morning to night.

"Without the family doctor system, the system would not have worked at all," said Dietsche. At the same time, the general practitioners would be assigned to new tasks by politics. "I have no understanding of the fact that family doctors of all things are being prioritized backwards."
