Bamberg (dpa / lby) - They are said to have broken into beer cellars and sports centers and stolen cash, alcohol, cigarettes and televisions: Now the police have arrested six suspects in the Upper Franconian district of Bamberg.

For more than 50 crimes in the northern district, the alleged burglars - five men and one woman - are possible, a spokesman said on Friday.

They would have broken open the windows and doors to the rooms.

17 beer cellars and 16 sports centers were among them.

Since October, they have stolen goods worth more than 10,000 euros.

They also left property damage of 40,000 euros.

During searches on Wednesday of apartments and a warehouse, officials then arrested the suspects, the spokesman said.

A 19- and a 21-year-old are now in custody.

The police found tools and a large part of the loot.
