The stadium project, which has a total area of ​​about 450 thousand square meters, is characterized by the adoption of special measures regarding the efficiency of the use of electricity and water, in order to reduce the carbon footprint of the stadium to a greater extent, in addition to 150 thousand square meters of green spaces in its vicinity, which will host endemic plants that do not consume much Irrigation water and be fun for the onlookers.

And sustainability standards were taken into account when designing the component parts of the area surrounding the stadium, after the World Cup, the capacity of the site, which consists of 40,000 seats, will be halved, and the other half of the seats will be dismantled and given to football development projects around the world.

Al Rayyan Stadium is located close to the Riffa Station on the Green Line of the Doha Metro, allowing fans to easily move to the stadium, and Dukhan Highway will facilitate transportation to and from the stadium, and there will be buses to transport fans from nearby stops.

Local companies carried out works that accounted for more than 50% of the total cost of the stadium, in addition to securing 15% of the materials used in the construction from recycled sources, and energy efficiency systems guarantee 20% less energy consumption compared to similar facilities, and less water consumption. By 20% thanks to advanced equipment, water reuse in irrigation of green spaces, as well as the cultivation of endemic plants that do not consume much irrigation water.

The director of Al-Rayyan Stadium project management, Engineer Abdullah Al-Faihani, confirmed that the stadium is distinguished from the rest of the World Cup stadiums by being the only stadium that has been completely demolished and rebuilt anew, indicating that all demolition components are utilized and used in reconstruction and training grounds.
