Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The trial started over a year ago against an alleged IS terrorist and slave owner from Constance is ongoing.

Originally, the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court had terminated the proceedings until this Thursday.

But with the 66th day of the trial, the process will not be over, a court spokesman said when asked.

There are now 37 further negotiation days until May 27, 2021.

The process started on October 16, 2019. The public was excluded.

According to the indictment of the Federal Prosecutor's office, the Constance woman traveled as a 15-year-old student from Lake Constance via Turkey to Syria in October 2013.

There she joined the terrorist militia Islamic State (IS) and a few months later married the IS fighter Ismail S. under Islamic law.

As the wife of the IS fighter, she is said to have kept three Yazidis as slaves.

In 2018 she was arrested in Turkey and later deported to Germany.

In addition to being a member of ISIS, she is charged with human trafficking and deprivation of liberty.

She is also said to have tried to recruit additional personnel for the IS.

It was unclear whether she should be sentenced in the event of a guilty verdict under juvenile or adult criminal law.

In September 2018, the young woman and her three children were deported to Germany and immediately arrested at Düsseldorf Airport.

Along with the young woman, her in-laws were also charged as alleged terrorist aides.
