  At about 10 pm on December 16, local time, the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage (IGC) of UNESCO announced that Singapore Hawker Culture was included in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

  Singapore’s Minister of Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister of Law Tang Zhenhui said: “Singapore’s hawker culture is the glory of Singapore and all Singaporeans.”

  He pointed out that the successful application of Singapore's hawker culture also reminded Singaporeans of the importance of resilience, resilience and unity.
